I asked Allah to take away my pride.

Allah said,”No.” It is not for me to take it away but for you to give it up.”

I asked ALLAH to make my ugly face, beautiful.

ALLAH said, ” No.” It is your taqwa that matter and, your physical beauty is only temporary.”

I asked ALLAH to grant me patience.

ALLAH said, ” No.” Patience is a byproduct of tribulations: it isn’t granted, it is earned”

I asked ALLAH to give me happiness.

ALLAH said “No”.  “I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.”

This is a Cambodia Relief Mission 2009 independent project carried out by Tengku Nur Atiqah and her sister to collect fund to support a very good friend of Cambodian Relief Mission team, Bro Roly, to continue his study in medicine. Wife Talks, Mother Speaks

“A man marries a woman for four reasons: for her property, for her rank, for her beauty, and for her religion (and character). So marry the one who is best in the religion and character and prosper“. (Bukhari and Muslim)

I am sure all of us have heard this hadith before, and are familiar with it. We are encouraged to look for soleh and musleh woman to be taken as a wife. In deciding to marry a woman, our Prophet s.a.w asked us to give more weight on her piety than all three other characteristics. Yes, i surely agree. We certainly want a wife who is soothing to our heart.

For some men though, we have another criterium that we take into account before we decide on whether we will ask the girl’s hand for marriage. And from my personal experiences, i think this criteria is the most overlooked by women trying to woo their husbands’ heart.

MENGUASAI DIRI

Firman Allah S.W.T.:

“Sesungguhnya Allah menyuruh (kamu) berlaku adil dan berbuat kebajikan, memberi kepada kaum kerabat.” (Maksud Surah al-Isra’ (17):90)

“Dan janganlah sekali-kali kebencianmu terhadap sesuatu kaum, mendorong kamu untuk berlaku tidak adil. Berlaku adillah, kerana adil itu lebih dekat kepada takwa. Dan bertakwalah kepada Allah.” (Maksud Surah al- Ma’idah (5):8)

Apakah yang dapat mengendalikan jiwa manusia dan menghalangnya daripada tidak terjerumus dalam penyimpangan , kerosakan, melakukan hal-hal yang haram, pelanggaran terhadap kehormatan dan pertumpahan darah? Adakah ia merupakan undang-undang? Adakah ia falsafah moral? Ataukah ia agama dan iman?

Tidak diragui lagi bahawa penciptaan undang-undang yang menyusun urusan dan hal-ehwal manusia merupakan perkara yang mendatangkan kemaslahatan untuk semua. Namun, undang-undang ini sahaja tidaklah memadai untuk mengendalikan tingkah laku manusia. Ini kerana, penguasaan undang-undang hanya pada aspek zahirnya sahaja dan tidaklah pada aspek batinnya.
